Eligiblity criteria

Criteria Details
Age Limit - No age limit for candidates appearing in CUET (UG) 2025.
- Candidates must fulfill age criteria (if any) of the desired University/Institution.
Educational Qualification - Candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2023 or are appearing in 2025.
- Accepted qualifications include CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, NIOS, and other recognized examinations.
Qualifying Examination
  • 10+2 system final exams by recognized Central/State Boards.
  • Pre-University exams by recognized Boards/Universities.
  • Senior Secondary exams conducted by NIOS (minimum of five subjects).
  • IB Diploma or equivalent recognized by AIU.
Year of Appearance Candidates must comply with the year of appearance criteria specified by the University they apply to.
University-Specific Requirements Candidates must meet the eligibility, quotas, relaxations, and admission guidelines specified by the respective University/Institution.

Selection Process

Stage Details
Entrance Test - Conducted in **Computer-Based Test (CBT)** mode.

Merit List Preparation - Participating universities prepare their merit lists based on CUET scores and admission criteria.
- Merit lists are unique to each university's requirements.
Counseling & Admission - Universities conduct counseling sessions for seat allocation.
- Admission is granted based on merit rank, eligibility, and document verification.
Document Verification - Candidates must provide original documents, such as educational certificates and category-related documents.

Exam Pattern

Section Details
Section 1A: Languages - 13 languages available (e.g., English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, etc.).
- Candidates can choose one language.
- Focus on reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar.
Section 1B: Additional Languages - 20 additional languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish, etc.).
- Optional section for candidates opting for specific programs.
Section 2: Domain-Specific Subjects - 27 domain-specific subjects available.
- Candidates can choose up to six subjects.
- Questions based on Class 12 syllabus.
Section 3: General Test - Tests general knowledge, current affairs, numerical ability, and logical reasoning.
- Optional for candidates applying to specific programs.
Marking Scheme - +5 marks for each correct answer.
- -1 mark for each incorrect answer.
- No marks for unanswered questions.
Exam Duration - Each section is 60 minutes long.
- Multiple shifts depending on the number of candidates.
