Selection Process
Stage | Description |

First Stage CBT (CBT-1) | Screening exam with 75 questions, duration: 60 minutes. Negative marking: 1/3 marks per wrong answer. Marks are normalized; minimum pass percentage varies by category. Topics include Mathematics, Mental Ability, General Science, and General Awareness. |
Second Stage CBT (CBT-2) | Two parts: Part-A (100 questions, 90 minutes) and Part-B (75 questions, 60 minutes, qualifying only). Topics include Mathematics, General Intelligence, Basic Science, and Engineering. Part-B focuses on trade-specific knowledge. |
Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) | Candidates 8 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted based on CBT-2 Part-A marks. Includes multiple test batteries; minimum T-score of 42 required per battery. CBAT contributes 30% weightage in final merit calculation. |
Document Verification (DV) | Shortlisted candidates provide original documents, vision certificate, and undergo further scrutiny. Merit determined by CBT-2 and CBAT performance; age considered in case of tie. |

Faq's
The age limit is 18 to 30 years as on 01-07-2025. Relaxations apply for certain categories.
Candidates must have Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI, Course Completed Act Apprenticeship, or a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering.
General category: Rs. 500/- (Rs. 400/- refunded after appearing for CBT-1). Reserved categories: Rs. 250/- (fully refundable after appearing for CBT-1).
The selection process includes First Stage CBT (CBT-1), Second Stage CBT (CBT-2), Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination.
